How the 'Power Rangers' Film Should Be & Elements It Should Have to Be SuccessfulFebruary 5, 2015
As a kid, teen and adult for some, you may remember waking up on Saturday and partaking to the 'Power Ranger' series.
Many variations of the series have been made to cope with the ever changing years and growing fans base.
So when it was revealed that Lionsgate was helming or making a live action Power Rangers film series, I was a bit skeptical seeing that the series leans toward being a little cheesy.
I thought about the film being cheesy until I came up with an idea on how they could make the film much more different than the TV series.
The series could start off with the very first Power Rangers theme or components from the first Power Rangers, which was named ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.’
I came up that the whole series can have a 'Pacific Rim' and 'Godzilla' or even a Marvel Cinematic Universe like feeling to it. The film should also have a true back story of each character and should be at the least PG-13. Also, the film should have cooperation of the government in it just like the films like 'Godzilla' trying to fight whatever monsters and more.
(How the Power Rangers Film Should be but with a much better look)
The series should also have some blood and more showing seeing that this is not a Saturday morning cartoon theme film. For example, when the Rangers are struck with their suits on it probably shouldn’t be any blood at all depending on how much power they are hit with. However, if they are in combat and they suits are heavily damaged and the enemy should be shown trying to still inflict damage to the hero or heroes or the heroes holding their arm it being broke or bleeding with blood coming down the side of the head or so on(just example).
The film could also probably have some graphic language in it but kept it in check. The film should have a lot of violence and more also.
Basically these few things will make the film bad ass. I mean films G.I. Joe, The Whole Marvel Cinematic Universe, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles did this and all series are doing more than excellent (besides from the last Transformers mishap). Also, each of the films decided to take away their cartoon friendly tone and added some beautifully harsh language and some partial nudity but nothing to graphic at all.
The film should also make it seem like the 'Power Rangers' are known heroes to a certain extent. The Power Rangers should be known just not their human identities seeing that the Rangers were originally in High School or teens but even this could be altered a little and make them college students or so.
The film should also include all newcomers and not anyone reprising any roles to give a fresher feeling.
(No Recent Characters Returning)
However, if they are portrayed as teens, they should do what teens do like go to parties and have fun and more.
I mean the whole film done correctly and different from the TV series can mean sudden success and possible an introduction to a new film franchise.
What do you think? Do you agree on anything I said about how the film franchise should go? Let me know by commenting below.
'Power Ranger' is scheduled to release July 22, 2016.
