Ben Affleck's 'The Batman' solo film had gone from a film that is close to production to suffering a great loss and that loss is losing Affleck as a director. The script was said to be in a re-writing phase and now has DC head honchos looking at a clean creative slate and a new release date for the solo Batman outing film.

It was revealed that Forbes allegedly revealed some news pertaining to the film. I must say that the news is kind of shaky and hard to believe but we still have to come before you with the update. The news state that a potential rewrite of the script is not really offering assurance that Ben Affleck will even stay on as the Dark Knight. In fact, it's going to be a fresh start for the movie with a new director (rumored to be War of the Planet of the Apes helmer Matt Reeves) and the film being pushed back to 2019.

Where would a rewrite leave the actor Joe Manganiello, who will play Deathstroke or, the future of DC's Entertainment Universe, which will surely be centered on the success of The Batman? We'll in a recent interview with Robert Irvine Magazine, the actor reassure fans that everything is coming together and filming will kick-off once everyone involved is happy:

"Last year, I said May and that was my understanding. It depends. They have big plans for this movie. Whether or not we start exactly on that date or in June, whatever it is, it doesn’t matter. Here’s the thing: The creative process needs to be respected and no one involved in this film wants to make anything less than an unbelievable film, a legendary film. The movie will start shooting whenever those pieces are in place and we know this is gonna be something that we’re proud of. What we’re not gonna do is be backed into a start date, scrambling to get something off the ground just to get it off the ground. Everyone involved wants to make this the best film possible, so that’s really what it’s about. Here’s the thing: No one wants to create that superhero movie that’s polarizing to fans and critics. Rest assured, we’re gonna do this thing right."

Joe Manganiello also put down the rumor that production was in trouble:

It’s funny how the media likes to run with, “Oh there’s trouble!” “Oh, the script needs to be revised!” They’re drama queens. There’s a creative process, and everyone on the cast and crew wants to make this the best movie possible. So that’s what we’re gonna do. When we start shooting it, we’ll start shooting it. It will be soon, I can say that."
