We all know that a Venom film is coming with Tom Hardy playing Eddie Brock aka Venom and that the film will include his symbiotic child named Carnage as the villain and that the film will take place in Tom Holland's new Spider-Man Universe. It has recently been revealed that Venom is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The update came via Amy Pascal or Sony form executive:

“First, there is Spider-Man happily in the place where he’s supposed to be which is in the Marvel Universe. I think everything comes from that. This is the signpost, the tentpole, the signature and… the other movies that Sony’s going to make, in their relationship to this [MCU] Spider-Man, take place in this [separate Sony] world. Although you’re not going to see them in the Marvel Universe, it’s in the same reality.”

This is no surprise seeing that Spider-Man being part of the MCU has made so many fans hype about the whole Sony & Disney deal. Still, it was said that Venom will be playing the hero in his solo film and this how I can see this would work. We'll the truth is Eddie Brock is not really a bad guy at all but he did have an extreme hate for Spider-Man who he blames fo running his life. Also, you have to understand the symbiote's history. The symbiotes are known as Klyntar which mostly are a race who are all not evil or have evil intentions but travel the cosmos trying to help others.

However, the Klyntar is acceptable to become corrupted by the beings they bond with. For example, the Symbiote knew as Venom only became extremely corrupted when Spider-Man showed extreme anger at one point which ended with the Symbiote taking on that part of Peter/Spider-Man and Peter rejecting the Symbiote making the Symbiote angry and turning to Eddie Brock making Brock's Symbiote's hate turn even more toxic for Spider-Man. The Symbiotes are naturally peaceful or most of them are, which could play on how Venom could be a hero. Also, Carnage being the villain in the film make things a little more dangerous and give way to Venom being the hero.

Carnage is one of the most dangerous Symbiotes created. Carnage is the child of Venom and is even stronger than Venom. However, Carnage is dangerous is extremely dangerous not only because of our strength but because of the being he was connected to when he was born and that being was Cletus Kasady, an extremely psychotic cereal killer. In the comics, Kasady retained his murderous and psychotic traits when he bonded with Carnage and became a threat to both Venom and Spider-Man and had no problem with hunting both down making Venom and Spider-Man band together to stop Carnage.

These facts would put Venom into the role of hero or anti-hero at the very least. Having to stop Carnage would be priority number one and seeing that he is the villain this would be an extremely favorable reason for him to become an anti-hero.
