Spawn Creator, Todd McFarlane had recently teased that we will be getting a new Spawn remake that would make up for the recent one that was made in the 1990s and starred actor Michael J. White. The film was revealed to now be at Blumhouse and Todd McFarlane had decided to reveal a little more about his upcoming series, which he teased at NYCC. During the teasing, McFarlane also took a shot at last year's Deadpool film.

“[It won’t be R-rated like Deadpool] with a couple F-bombs and a couple bare asses. “It’s going to be dark. I will have a shark in the black water. and if you’re swimming he will come and you’ll be gone and he will f**k you up.”

This is not the first time Todd Mcfarlane took shots at the Deadpool film. Earlier this year, we revealed that McFarlane told Emerald City Comic Con that Deadpool (Marvel/20th Century Fox) and even the Wolverine lead film Logan (Marvel/20th Century Fox) was basically PG-13 worthy compared to how his Spawn film will be.

McFarlane also revealed that his self-directed film will hit pre-production after Christmas, and is set to hit production February of 2018. McFarlane also revealed that when it comes to marketing and distributing, Universal Studios just may take the deal but he's open to other studios coming in as well.

Then he decided to go directly on what he expected from the studios:

“The only things we need from them are distribution and marketing. We don’t need your input, we don’t need your cash, we don’t need your creativity – and they don’t like those deals. They always want the budget to go up because then they have to put money in it and then they own it.”

Spawn is an exceptionally dark character and anything below a Rated R rating would be a total disappointment. Also, it would seem like McFarlane may be extremely competitive with the comic book characters out there or more specifically Marvel characters at 20th Century Fox.
