Austin Powers 4: Mike Myers Confirms Movie Happening.November 8, 2018
The shagadelic, British man of mystery, is coming back for a fourth time.
Actor Mike Myers has confirmed that a new Austin Powers film is on its way or a fourth installment of the film is series is coming. While speaking to Digital Spy, Myers revealed to reporters that a new Austin Powers film is "looking good."
Myers went on to state "You're going to see Dr. Evil soon, somewhere in the culture."
"There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture and the Dutch."
It must be noted that Dr. Evil is Austin Power's half-brother or it was revealed this in the film and also that Evil was raised by the Dutch after an attempted assassination on he and Austin's father life ended with their mother being killed and the two being separated. A few years ago, it was hinted by Myers that the Austin Powers film was underway and this is the first update pertaining to the film in a long time.
Fans have been wanting an Austin Powers 4 film ever since the series came to a halt after its third film entitled 'Gold member' was released back in 2002.
Myers himself had been out the spotlight for a while and recently made a re-appearance in the Freddie Mercury biopic 'Bohemian Rhapsody' where is starred alongside Rami Malik, who portrayed the legend.
Myers told Digital Spy about the reason he was absent all these years also away from acting. Myers stated " You know, I've been very...I've had three kids in the last six years and that's sort of where my focus had been."
Myers talked about which he prefer doing the most being a family man or being powers. Myers didn't give a direct answer but he did say, "I love doing all the characters and it's a non-stop party when we're shooting. It's fun."
Myers gave reason to why the fourth film took so long to happen. Myers explained "They take a long time to write, they always have."
Even if the film is made Verne Troyer, who played Mini-Me, will not be joining the cast because he unfortunately passed in April. Myers talked about Verne and stated "Verne's legacy is that he was a fantastic comedy actor. And, you know we wrote it, the part wasn't much and he made it definitely better than written and we just kept giving him more and more. He was a great stuntman, a great dancer, a great mime, and a great human being."
Verne will surely be missed. His comedic antics was one of the prizes of the series and being Dr. Evil's shorter double ganger standing at 2'8.
Myers didn't reveal how much of the script was written or even when the film can be projected to start production and more. We can guarantee all will be revealed in the coming months and or beyond.
