Jeffrey Dean Cast as Negan in 'The Walking Dead.'

After months of speculation, , The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Jeffrey Dean Morgan has landed the role of the villainous Negan on "The Walking Dead." According to THR's unnamed sources, Morgan will make his first appearance on the show during the midseason finale. The episode will be directed by Greg Nicotero.

Debuting in the landmark 100th issue of Image Comics' "The Walking Dead," Negan made a big entrance into the mythos by taking the life of one (up until that point) long-lasting survivor and member of Rick's crew. In addition to being the leader of the Saviors, Negan is a foul-mouthed and charismatic villain who carries a barbwire-laced bat named Lucille.

THR notes that the casting process for Negan was a long one and that the character was referred to as "Orin," most likely to keep his introduction under wraps. Morgan's character is expected to be around ...

Trailer For 'The Walking Dead' Season 5 February 2015 Midseason Pick Up Revealed.

Many fans have been mourning over the big surprise of the tragic end of a highly loved character in the mid-season finale of AMC's 'The Walking Dead.'

So from this, AMC has decided to throw us a bone and released a short trailer for the second half of Season 5, and it looks like it could spell the arrival of the group at a walled community!

t has long been teased that the Alexandria Safe Zone (ASZ) could be a potential new base for the group in the second half of Season 5, and this latest promo seems to confirm that a walled community of some sort could be on the cards.

The teaser is short and sweet, and has two voiceovers from Michonne and Rick. Michonne seems to be talking about the possible walled community (ASZ?) that Noah spoke to Beth about in the"Slabtown" episode:

First Look at Rick & Daryl on Set of 'The Walking Dead' Season 5.

First Look at Rick and Daryl on Walking Dead Season 5 Set

A couple of awesome set photos from The Walking Dead Season 5 have been posted online featuring Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl (Norman Reedus), and as you can see, there's some seriously impressive facial hair on show:

While Daryl has managed to keep his hirsutism down to a wispy goatee, Rick has gone for the full-blown "I'm-living-in-an-apocalypse-and-I-don't give-a-shit" look.

Time Jump?

Now, as much as I love Rick's new beard, I am wondering how it got so big, so soon. Unlike some previous seasons, Season 5 kicks off directly after the events of Season 4, so in theory, the facial fuzz won't have had anytime to grow.

But if you compare Rick's look from then to now, the difference is kinda startling:

That's a decent explosion of facial hair and it got me wondering whether Season 5 will still see a time jump ...

New 'The Walking Dead' Animated wish fulfillment videos comedy gold.

New 'The Walking Dead' Animated wish fulfillment videos comedy gold.

If you could write the script for 'The Walking Dead' season 5 and had free rein to do whatever you pleased, what would you make happen on the show?  If it were me, I'd probably resurrect Andrea, Lori and the Governor, just so I could kill them all over again.

Or something like that.

Anyway, the guys over at College Humor decided to create a "What we wish would happen on The Walking Dead" video and I can honestly say that it's really funny.

Giving away Baby J to a nice family so the rest of the guys can get back to the business of walker slaying would be beyond awesome.

What would you like to see happen on The Walking Dead if you had creative control? Get crazy in the comments below.

The Walking Dead will return October only on AMC.

'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Poster Revealed.

Even though season 4 of AMC's hit series titled 'The Walking Dead' just ended, AMC has decided to kick off their marketing campaign for season 5 with a new poster. The poster follows a similar theme the "Who Will Arrive/Survive" posters released in the buildup to the season finale, except this time it seems clear who will make it out alive: the original badass, Rick Grimes.

Check it out:

AMC brandishes Frank Darabont's 'The Walking Dead' lawsuit 'baseless.'

AMC has fired back against the lawsuit brought by former 'The Walking Dead' show runner Frank Darabont, labeling claims he was cheated out of profits as 'baseless.'

Darabont filed a lawsuit against the network claiming he "has not received and may never receive one dollar in profits for developing the series" but on Thursday AMC filed a long page or 10-page response denying the allegations and asking for the case to be thrown out.

AMC statement:

We look forward to demonstrating through the legal process that this is a baseless lawsuit built on claims that have no merit.

Darabont has also claimed that he was wrongly fired from the 'The Walking Dead' and should still get Exclusive Producer credits and a share of the profits from TWD spin-offs such as The Talking Dead.

But with AMC digging in their heels and fighting the allegations all the way, this case is ...
