Bathing is very essential for the skin and yet is neglected by many women. Taking out some time to care for one’s beauty routine. Most women follow a five minutes shower ritual and do not even remember when was the last time they actually enjoyed having a bath. It is done like a monotonous, mechanical routine that goes along with other boring household chores like washing clothes, cleaning and cooking.

Create time for yourself with or without your partner, in the bathroom. I feel a bathroom needs to reflect character just like any other room in the house. This is one place which is very private and you have yourself to you completely. Not many women spend much time thinking about their bathroom interiors and it is a pity for even the dingiest of bathrooms can be brought to life with a little thought and creativity.

Decorate your bathroom with colors of your choice, bright happy colors or soft pastels. Full sized mirrors, lush green plants or even dried pot. Fragrant body massage oils, jute massage mittens, sponges, natural loofahs, stone scrubs for those aching feet, pumice stones, back brushes, natural bath bags, dried herbs and flowers for your bathtub, gigantic soft towels are all basic essentials for bathing besides your other toiletries.

Your face is not the only important part of your skin, the entire body requires your undivided attention and loving care to make it smile and feel petal smooth.

Bathe correctly. Most women prefer either very hot or very cold water but it should be neither of these extremes. A warm soapy bath tub with lots of rose petals, 2 tablespoons milk powder and 2 tablespoons of lavender oil feels like pure luxury on dry, tired skin.

You can make our own bath bags at home and store them in colorful airtight porcelain or colored glass containers. These bath bags are excellent for shower lovers as they are easy to use and convenient to keep. All the bath bags have a shelf life of 4 weeks.

Bath Bag For Dry Skin :

  • 1 tbsp milk powder
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp oatmeal
  • 1 drop sandalwood oil
  • Dried lemon peel powder

Mix all the ingredients together and just put a teaspoon of the mixture in small pieces of muslin cloth and tie each piece tightly with ribbons or string. Store in an airtight container and use whenever required. Rub the bath bag all over the body when bathing and feel how smooth, soft and clean the skin becomes. These bath bags should be discarded after a single use.

Bath Bag For Oily Skin :

  • 2 tbsp orange peel powder
  • 2 tbsp rice powder
  • 2 tbsp mint leaves, powdered
  • 2 tbsp lemon oil
  • 4 tbsp kaolin clay

Mix together all the ingredients and wrap in a muslin cloth, tied with a ribbon or natural thread like jute or coir rope, store in an airtight jar. Scrub all over the face and body. You will feel fresh, fragrant and clean all over. Most women forget that it is not just their faces that require exfoliating but the entire body. Dead skin can accumulate on any part of the body and it is important to scrub the body until it feels squeaky clean and smooth. You can keep a jar of your favorite scrub on a bathroom shelf and use a handful every time you bathe along with a natural loofah or jute mitten. Always remember that special attention should be given to specific areas like the knees, thighs, buttocks and heels. These usually have more dead skin accumulations and are always in need of attention.

My name is Diane Frazier, and I created this blog after I was injured while rock climbing. It was all in good humor. Then it became a part of my daily routine. It enabled me to make this my full-time job, relocate abroad, travel, write, and even collaborate with my husband. I never imagined I'd find myself in this situation. Not only here, but also where I am right now. I relocated from Dallas to Germany in 2016. In 2019, I returned to Dallas to write and travel around the United States and the world.
