A verdict has been reached and it has been revealed that the federal government has approved the $85.4B titanic merger between Time Warner and AT&T. The approval was despite the government's effort to stop the deal. The government thought the merger as a threat and wanted to stop it due to the impression or even prediction that this will unleash a wave of corporate takeovers.

The man who is responsible for approving the deal was Richard J. Leon of the United States District Court in Washington. Leon stated that the Justice Department has not proved that the telecom company’s acquisition of Time Warner would lead to fewer choices for consumers and higher prices for television and internet services.

The merger is set to create a huge media and telecommunications conglomerate that will reshape the full landscape of the two industries and possibly other industries. The new combined company will have a huge library that includes  “Game of Thrones” and channels like CNN, along with vast distribution reach through wireless and satellite television services across the country.

The big mergers of companies come after President Trump gave companies a big tax cut. It also comes on the heel of companies like Amazon and Netflix growing in power.

Aside from the approval of the merger between the two topic companies, Comcast revealed that they will throw in their bid to purchase the television and movie sector of 21st Century Fox if the deal between AT&T/Time Waner was approved. Well, it has been approved and Comcast plans on being in the race to purchase that particular sector of the company against Disney. The company already held off making a formal bid possibly in efforts to outbid Disney.

In all reality, many fans are hoping that Disney acquires 21st Century Fox's movie and television division so Marvel (another company of Disney) can bring in all the characters of the Marvel Universe right back to Marvel.

We will see how things go.
